Education

This week I have done a lot of thinking about how to educate my children. This was instigated by the Home Education Council of America summit that I listened to. http://hecoa.org/
I've learned a lot, and pondered on how to properly educated my child(ren). One of the things that stuck out to be the most was: teaching ourselves and then our children the principle of self-government. Which is just really how to be assertive. I ponder about Jesus and how he could have only been assertive. Most of us are one of the following: aggressive, passive-aggressive, or passive. How much easier and more fulfilling life would be if we learned to be assertive.
It is sad how sometimes our current education system can kill our desire to learn. We are here on this earth to learn, and the only thing that will rise with us in the resurrections is our knowledge. I love to learn!! I remember how my dad used to always see that if he could, he would be a student for life. I to would love that! To have a mentor for each of the things I want to learn about, and then just study and learn all day long.
Anyway, Wyatt wanted to play the piano this morning after watching me play, while he ate his lunch. So he did, but this time he didn't climb up the piano, like how he has been lately, so that was good. Progress!!
